Imo the leafs biggest problem when they protect leads is passivity on the puck carrier. They're at their best when they are aggressive on the puck and using their speed to apply pressure. When they get the lead they spend a lot of time waiting g for the puck carrier to get to them and their gap control becomes horrendous.
I don't know, I was expecting Boyle/Martin to be incredible on the cycle. They are playing heavy, but I don't see a lot of zone time from that line. Hoping it's just Boyle learning his linemates.
