GDT: LA Kings @ Canadiens - Thurs Dec 17, 2015 - 7:30 pm ET

More like what are the odds Galchenyuk makes it past trade deadline as a Hab?

I would be sniffing around right now seeing what our leaderless captain can fetch . I do not want to be looking at extending him to mega bucks at 30 when his so called great contract expires, and heading into decline years.

I think teams would pony up large for him, he is the perimeter wuss even more this year .

We may have to trade NB to get that high end forward. It'll hurt . . . but . . . the bargain bin shopping ain't getting it done. Aside from Gallagher, we also don't have two other RW's who were "supposed" to be on this team and possibly contributing offensively.

Nate +++ might get you something , on his own forget it . All you will get is another young kid "not yet what we expected player " in return .

Suits has to start moving core players not this window dressing with spare parts.

Should temper your expectations, MaxPac is not a brut strength power forward, never was never will be. He's a big bodied finesse forward who uses his wicked shot. Brett Hull made a career out of living off his shot, without an ounce of physicality.

MaxPac is not the problem, need to add that prototypical power forward to complement his skill set.

What's the excuse for ur "I'm American not Ruskie but I think & play Ruskie perimeter hockey" Galchenyuk? I long ago accepted he'd never be an elite player this team needs, but 3-yrs into his career doesn't look like he'll be anything more than Plekanec minus defensive awareness at his peak. He's just as ballless as the Euro dick rash too.

I've been saying it for a couple of yrs now, MBs #1 priority last summer was to find a Markov succession plan, not only did he fail in acquiring two top-6 forwards, that was an even bigger miss.

If Preds are unwilling to offload Seth Jones, Beaulieu + Galchenyuk might be able to net Johansen, but that doesn't make the Habs better overall unless MB has a deal in place to acquire a Dman like Vlasic.

Trading NB will hurt. I would be shocked if MB deals him.

I'm sorry, do the playoffs start tomorrow? This was not a 15-2 team, never was. Nor is it a 3-9 team. Injuries, slumps, bad bounces, law of averages; all factors over a long 82 game season. Guys will return and our fortunes will level out. We are still one or two guys away from true contender status. I expect Bergy to address these issues before the trade deadline. Can't believe some of the chicken little stuff.

The top six has been an issue since MB became the GM. It needs to be addressed finally, and with better solutions than Ryder, Briere, PAP & Semin.

no, but this team has 1st round exit written all over it. If you can't score on 40 shots during the season, you're going to have an even tougher time in the playoffs.

We saw it against Tampa last May and even in the games that Anderson played in the Ottawa series.

Best post of the thread

Cant believe the stuff im seeing here. Trade P.K. or trade Pacioretty. What the ****?

That's one poster maybe. The top 6 issue has been a long-running one.
Phibes' post is still bang on. He acknowledges that yes while we need one more piece... the team is not as bad as recent results (nor as insanely good as the hot start).

Need to find a way to score goals. Getting shots but that's not enough right now. Drive the net, make the goalie work for those saves.
