Such a clown organization. They always do things that defy logic.
 
Teammates of course hate things like this, seeing out of whack contract guys get red carpets. That being said, I like Clarkson. I think he recovers next year and beasts. True he probably owes us about 5 to 7 million so far for poor execution, but the poor guy probably put so much pressure on himself he has just not caught the magic here in Leafland.

That being said, he gives a hard effort every night, and there are signs, small signs that he is turning a corner here.

It would be good to see Lupul come back and create some real magic and trade him. That would free up some real nice space. He is definitely someone who should be wearing another uniform now imo.
 
Anyone miss Captain Collapse that period?

Given the number of young'ns on the blueline, they were playing quite well, notwithstanding Rielly gifting them a puck behind Bernier.

Helluva good pp. Much better puck control than usual. Team looks just cursed with it's goal scoring dive though. They're generating chances but nothing goes in.

If he was making two million dollars, he'd be buried on the Marlies or he'd be bought out. His salary is the only reason he's still here. He can't score, he can't pass and he has no hockey sense. He's not even as much of a physical presence as guys like Winnik or Komarov. He hits the ice more than he hits players on the other team.

The Phaneuf hate is getting silly.

How is this a better team without him? Being a Captain or a True #1 defenseman or whatever label you wanna put or not put. I don't see how we are a better team without him.

The guy scored at a 15 point pace last year and is on pace for a whopping 24 points this year. He doesn't really do anything particularly well. This just isn't someone that deserves to be rewarded in any way or designated as a leader. It doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, I don't get it either even if I think his performance leaves a lot to be desired of late.

We just heard the commentators complain that we are misusing Komarov, while our new "A" just left the puck behind for Gomez... fvck me...
 
I think anyone putting any stock into anything in a meaningless game between Toronto and New Jersey might need to be committed.
