Wow, that was actually a pretty good close out to the game.
Huge win. That's one of the most complete games they've played all year, and the first line was huge as per usual. Hopefully they'll keep it up in San Jose!
There are a lot of parallels between Sundin and Kessel & Phaneuf as well. Both those guys are in their 5th seasons with the team, they've been elite for their entire Leaf careers so far, and I feel like the general fanbase is just this year really starting to warm up to both of them.
We have to play against Washington in the AFTERNOON!?
How the heck are we supposed to win that one?
Bernier 43 saves .977
why exactly did the Ducks trade away Penner again?
Oh... and Ranger looks good. He's really settled down.
Really solid performance by the 17th best team in the league... according to TSN: http://www.tsn.ca/fantasy_news/rankings/nhl/
I didn't want to say anything during the game because with him anything can happen at any time BUT.. I think this might be the best consecutive game stretch we've seen from Gardiner all year. He's been great for about 3-4 games now. Not just good, but great. Very few mistakes, dangerous offensively, and solid enough in his own zone. Hopefully we continue to see some consistency from him. I don't think he's put together two good games in a row this season prior to this, to be honest.
Nah, Gardiner has been just as brainless. We've just been more patient with him because he offers more with his skating and puck moving ability. Plus, he's younger and less experienced.Sounds more like Franson's issue than Gardiner's.
Damien Cox @DamoSpin 3m
Another tough Leaf result for those who believe shot counter should decide games. . .so they don't actually have to watch.
Simmons and Cox are actually on the right side of things for once.
