Burke might as well be playing a fictional character who attracts a certain audience. If he were to broaden his horizons and start zeking out with stats, it would defeat the purpose of why he was hired.

the fact that some fans hate Burke, just adds to his network appeal. Outrage is a better response than “meh”.
 
Being a reasonable level headed media guy would be boring as fuck. I'd just sit there flipping coins as my analysis for every game. "Shit happens"
 
Burke does have a great broadcasting personality even if I think his opinions are crap. Someone like Pierre Mcguire knows his shit, but is a disaster in an actual conversation and is incredibly awkward.

Me: nah they outplayed them significantly and just got unlucky

It would help your cause if I ever lamented a lack of "body checks" as a reason for any Leafs loss.
