Rielly was a beast tonight. Best game of the season.
Ten points in fourteen games for him now, too. I don't know if he'll continue scoring at the 60-point pace he's at right after a four-point night, but he's definitely setting a career high this year if he's healthy.

Matthews and the posts. It sickens me to think that he should have like 12 goals by now.

And Nylander looks like he's playing someone else's game. Not sure what happened there, but that demotion last game may have shaken him up.

I read a tweet yesterday that Rammo has a stall in the leafs dressing room. Could they dump enroth and give Rammo the back up role?

I am in Ottawa and attended the Sens vs Kings game (which is actually a very entertaining game, Sens came back to tie and then win the game in the last 4 min ... and for $20 tix to an NHL game you can't go wrong) but I did watch part of this game on NHL GC after ...

- On Rielly playing PP, Babs said "Don't count on it happening a lot this season" because he wants Rielly for defense, and in last night's game after using him on PP, LA put Kopitar on the ice and Rielly was exhausted and he couldn't put him on the ice, resulting in a few chances by LA. This is kinda a skewed logic to me, because GF and GA both count, if Rielly on the ice can help you score, who cares if you lose an edge defensively for the 2 min or so after?? Plus it does show he doesn't trust any other LHD on the team for shutdown role

- assuming things will even out by the end of the season, Matthews should get on a scoring streak very soon for the # of posts he's hit in the last few games. He is getting 3-5 shots a game though, and he is #6 in the NHL for shots, so he's obviously doing something right

- That drop pass by JVR that led to the Simmonds breakaway exemplifies the problem with the Bozak-JVR unit. JVR really had no reason to drop pass to Rielly on that play, even if the pass wasn't intercepted by Simmonds, Rielly was crowded at the point and all he could do with a drop pass would be to dump it into the corner to Bozak which is what JVR should have done in the first place. Bozak was open on the L corner, not only that was the most expected play it was also the right play. But something about Bozak and JVR that they just want to make the unexpected play, even for no real benefit and at tremendous risk

- Good to see Hyman scoring, and the Mathews line continue to get chances without Nylander, while Nylander sure helps Kadri's line. To me, it is clear to me Matthews and Nylander are ready to drive their own lines even now. Time to trade Bozak.

- Andersen was alright .. he was solid, allof the goals were tipped in front of net or on breakaway or partial breakaways. I can't really blame him for any of the 3 goals (and he had a .909 SV%) though I think the 2nd goal was stoppable

Good to see the buds rebound for a game after the 7-0 stinker. They sure need to clean up the D plays, and Babs will coach the new guys, while I've completely given up on bozak and jvr by now. Look forward to when eventually Lou trades Bozak, and maybe JVR as well

Well this is starting to get annoying.

I don't agree with Babs but I can kinda see the thinking behind it. Not that Rielly is a great shutdown D, but the D is really inconsistent and unreliable outside of Rielly and Zaitsev. Gardiner, Carrick, Marincin all have their gaffe moments, and Hunwick / Polak sucks.

In fact, we're very lucky to have Zaitsev this season.

Why should we be skeptical of single game individual possession stats?

JVR last night: 68.42 CF% ... leading the team.
