This explains so much.

My service provider doesn't provide RDS in HD. Never did and probably never will. And since I get most of my TV shows via download I don't see the point of paying to switch providers just to get one channel in high def. Besides, when all the games on RDS are blacked out does it really matter if they're blacked out in HD or SD?
