Tonight shows the difference a year can make. Cowan is the better prospect between he and Minten, but Minten has looked like he belongs against NHL competition despite most of the team getting caved around him. Easton has looked like a kid playing against men. Another gruesome turnover on this last shift got bailed out by a dumb Detroit penalty.

Minten & Robertson have looked like NHL players tonight and that's about it.

Fwiw, Holmberg is the guy I'm disappointed in tonight. He's been turrible tonight, which makes sense to a degree, he's not a guy who can carry water imo but has the tools to compliment good players around him but on this lineup, he has to carry a line against NHL comp and he can't.

Holmberg sorta came on late in camp but yeah, not a very good performance tonight. No one's really standing out. In fairness Keefe put them in a tough spot. It's tough to look great on an AHL team going up against an NHL team. Almost impossible really.

Still makes my roster over crap like Lafferty.

With all of that other stuff said, Jarnkrok has also looked rough. Another guy who is good enough complimenting better players but can't carry water.

I know I'm a Robertson stan, but his game has grown a lot. Another really nice back check and calm play in the defensive zone to generate a breakout.

I haven't loved Robertson's camp but yeah him and Minten have stood out as the best of the bunch tonight. Neither have been great but they looked like they were on an island in this one.
