GDT: San Jose Sharks @ Canadiens - Tues Dec 15, 2015 - 7:30 pm ET

Early in the season when everything the Habs did turned to gold everyone praised their depth. They were getting contributions from lesser lights like Weise, Mitchell, Fleischmann and Byron and people felt that this proved that Bergevin knew what he was doing. But tonight, aside from Price, the only other regular out of the line-up is Gallagher and the rest of them can't muster any offence to speak of.

Having depth is all well and good if your top guys are producing but let's face it: Max is doing next to nothing, Pleks is doing nothing and PK is a mixed bag. Eller is a lost cause. DD is DD. Markov is burned out. The depth guys aren't consistent enough to pick up the slack.

Even with Gallagher in the lineup we were missing legit top six talent so imagine how we look now

Not enough goals is again the issue. Gotta find another scoring rw

We got very fortunate in the first 20 games to get goal scoring from bottom six guys like Weise, Fleischman, Mitchell, Flynn

But now that they're scoring goals at their true cadence we're in trouble because the offense MB was expecting to get from Semin, Kassian, Eller in a 2nd line role is not happening

Its also harder for weise and fleischmann when they face tougher checkers cause we dont have gallagher

I thought the midget was suppose to carry them , you know the player whose offence we couldn't replace

Bottom line our leaders have been a major disappointment in the last month mainly PK and Max , top 6 issues are back

You missed the point completely.

The point was we have so few offensive weapons that losing one for nothing hurts the teams offense.

Youre seeing that play out now. Losing just one player hurta the three line concept.
