GDT | Sometimes you can’t rely on other people’s good luck

I'm really excited for it. I don't even know why. I had to watch game 3 on my phone at a family thing, and the first two games are blurs now. I guess if it somehow ends up being the last game of the year, I'm in the mood to enjoy just one more. And if they win, of course, then you've got another and who knows...

I’m definitely out on watching tonight’s game. They’ve finally successfully pushed me to the point where there’s a Leaf playoff game on and I couldn’t give less of a shit.

Think I’ll do something more entertaining, like weeding my garden, vacuuming my floors or scrubbing my bathrooms.

the only person who is consistently optimistic is soco’s gramps. Probably because he can remember all 11 cups (true story - first time I met the man… back in 98 or so… he told me that “I have the same itch I had in ‘67, except now they sag so I’ve gotta reach down lower to scratch it”.)

One of my grandfathers used to sound like I do now as well. From what I’m told he was a lunatic Leaf fan when my parents were dating, but by the time I came around the guy fucking hated the Leafs.

He’s been gone for a number of years now, but I definitely understand the old man way better now.
 
While LOFs "if anyone can do it, it's these guys" comment is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on here, it would sure suck to miss a historic comeback. And I've invested a lot of time and energy into watching this organization that skipping the final episode, even if the show has gone downhill, seems crazy to me and is not even part of my thought process.

But I do get it. These guys have done nothing to earn our loyalty.

Obviously, I didn't make that statement pointing to their track record.

I said it because they have MORE than enough talent to do it, and are so ridiculously Leafy (more than any past roster), that they may just be the types to rattle off four in a row just before the last nail in the coffin is hammered in.
