GDT - Tampa @ Leafs 7:30pm SNO

Leafin'

Stamkos in town.

Bernier in net. Lupul back. Corrado getting his 1st game as a Leaf.

I smell a Bernier meltdown and a Stamkos hatty in front of the hometown crowd. End of the game chant of " We want Stamkos" is likely in the cards.

GO TANK GO

All this blowing of Stamkos as a leader is funny to hear because we all know the narrative will change to "Stamkos is a scumbag" the second he signs in Toronto.

F*cking fastforward this season and get this guy dammit.

Might be watching the end of a goalie tonight.

I want Bernier to do good enough to be able to get moved at this point. I don't think we have a goalie in our organization that will be a significant producer for us when we are ready.

Babcock likes larger goalies, and for the most part the league favors them as well.

Its been too long since we've had a goalie to be proud of. All bums unfortunately.

One interesting thing about all of this Stamkos talk going around that because no talks have been going on, it is a foregone conclusion that he will at least test free agency, and in turn Toronto has the best odds.

Since he also has a no move clause and no trade, Tampa can't even recoup anything. Also the leafs don't have to give anything but money for him on July 1st. But what if Yzerman doesn't want this looming all year and the leafs offer Tampa something to get him here after the trade deadline to at least gaurantee they have first dibs at resigning. I don't mean offering a draft pick, or a prospect, I mean giving them a player (winger) they can use for a potential playoff run. Something like a Lupul, or Parenteau.

I have to get off now, but anyone get what I'm trying to say?

I think they'd rather lose him for nothing than have to take on an anchor contract in Lupul. I also think they'd rather ride Stamkos for 1 more cup run in hopes of resigning him. It would send a pretty shitty message to their fanbase to move an elite player in Stamkos for a plug like Parenteau.

Leafs should NOT be giving up any assets for Stamkos. We are not in a position to do so. The only reason Stamkos even makes sense for the Leafs is because he will be available for nothing but money.

LOL what a goal by Kucherov.

Defensive break down and not much Bernier could do on a beauty dangle and snipe top shelf.

Stamkos chooses where he goes, so let some other team dump picks or whatever for him. Makes no sense for us to mortgage futures when we have near infinite money in the bank for him. Also, he was pretty annoyed in interviews today, lots of "Get this over with!" and so on, not sure how that could translate to TO's pressure cooker (and the trolls Simmons and Feschuk).

Jake Gardiner would be a stud if the nhl were shinny and nobody applied any backside pressure.

BERnier and Reimers groin are going to help get us Matthews. That is all that matters.
