He's a local boy with a NTC and the Leafs are looking like they're going to be at least pretty good for the next few years. 0% chance he waives his NTC. This is a guy who will have to be starved out of the lineup and embarrassed.
Though it is a modified NTC (not sure what the modifications are) so maybe we'll be able to eat a chunk of it, or take another shitty contract back, etc.

The added depth is really helping.

We would have looked way, way different last year if we had this group of depth forwards. Biggest difference between this year and last is that our depth forwards aren't AHL level scrubs.

They finally learned to not pay big money to bottom 6 guys.

Well, they didn't really "learn". They finally have professionals making the decisions who don't believe in it.

My thoughts on the game-
- Leafs did an impressive job at limiting turnovers against a team that is one of the best at forcing them. To keep to just 8 turnovers all game is a huge step forward, not to mention we had something like 15 takeaways
- Kessel was too quiet last night, yea he had an assist but he wasn't up to snuff last night
- That Rielly goal was a beaut! Who knew the kid could snipe like that? More of that please
- Franson I thought had one of his best games as a Leaf, and that wipeout hit on Datsyuk was epic
- Paniks' a beast when he's PO'd! I thought the hit was a headshot though and I think the league takes a look at it but I get why he did it because Smith laid quite the 2 hander on him, he definetly is a better fighter then I figured he woud be.

My favourite moment in this game was hearing Healy (I think it was) bragging that the Wings only took 41secs of their power play to score... and just as he got those words out, JVR scores on the PP... only 21secs in...
