GDT: X-Canes @ Red Wings 4/4 7:00

I ended up having to watch the FanDuel Detroit feed last night. Their TV announcers are absolute homers, it was very annoying.

If I hear the Canes have all but locked up the 2nd spot in the Metro one more time... We haven't yet. And we better not assume teams like Detroit or even the Bruins tonight or Buffalo next week are going to lay down for us. Better grab the 3 points we still need in these next 2 games before we start playing really good team and teams that might be fighting for their playoff lives.
 
What Kooch is turning into is Elvis Merzlikins ... just good enough to stay in the league, but too mercurial to be relied upon if you want to win something meaningful. And that's fine. Kooch is getting paid half of what the Jackets pay Merzlikins to be infuriatingly inconsistent. And given the Canes position in the standings, it's OK to keep rotating him out there for the rest of the season even if he never really gets his mess together. It's not like the Devils are going to catch them for 2nd place and there's zero chance Carolina catches Washington for 1st place. Just let it play out.

Whoops. I promise I posted mine while you were writing yours. That said ...

If you think that the Devils are gonna make up 10 points with 6 games left to play, then that's fine. I don't happen to think that's even remotely plausible given their record over the last 20 games or so. That would require Carolina to produce less than 4 points the rest of the way AND require the Devils to win out. I mean, it could happen but ... yeah, probably not.
