Habs Acquire Tanner Pearson and a 3rd for Casey DeSmith

last year he was victim of medical malpractice by Canuck doctors -- had two separate hand surgeries

should bounce back and find his typical 15-20 goal range (he's averaged 18.5G/82 games for his career)

with those numbers, and his size, he'll be easy to trade

So… we have a lot of forwards.

A lot of youngins to Laval and back to junior?

Tanner suffered a lost season -- a half dozen surgical procedures and an infection for what was supposed to be a ho-hum three week wrist injury.

Understandably, nobody was rushing to take him off Vancouver's hands, but if he shows up to Hab camp healthy and gets off to a decent start, he'll garner some interest around the league as a solid middle six player with a 1.4M cap hit.

In that scenario, Habs can trade him sooner rather than later if one of our young forwards is burning it up in Laval.

Waiver protected RHP and Slafkovsky would have to go to Laval I think, and maybe a D if we keep 14 forwards with the big team.

make the kids earn it after getting a taste of the big time

I will wait for GPX to tell me if this is good or not
I think it's fine. Tanner Pearson's a lottery ticket. If he goes back to his usual production as an ~35-40 point player prior to last season, we trade him near the deadline to a contender.

The trade is DeSmith for a 3rd round pick, Pearson's the sweetener.
