ArponBasu: A line of Brandon Prust, Lars Eller and Brian Gionta appears built to play against Steven Stamkos.

Was thinking the same thing when I saw the lines.

Well at least they got Gionta off Plekanec line again.

I dunno if Bourque wouldn't be better than Briere on the second line. Add some size.

MT must be banking on Briere stepping it up in the playoffs.

Looks like he is hoping the pleks line can bring some offense and the eller line can bring the defense.
TB will focus on shutting down the DD line so hopefully pleks/briere/gally can bring some offense

Or for the road games matching up against Stamkos is easier this way:
Power vs power with DD.
Pleks vs Stamkos
that defensive third line vs stamkos

so 3 lines that have the potential to do well

Flip Eller for Pleks at center and I like the lines

He will only be in game shape by playing games. This isn't the time of the year where you can give someone an extra day. If he is physically cleared, he will play. Granted by the 8 minute mark of the first period, he will go head first into the boards and be out the rest of the playoffs with a broken shoulder, rib etc

Just repeating what was reported by the Canadiens public relations. If you want to apply for a job with them ..go ahead :)

Eller was playing better lately and having him to play against Stamkos i don't know if it is good idea.
plek line is too small but lets see what brière does in this line

I'd switch Eller and Plek too, and let Plek go head to head with Stamkos.

As much as Plek and Gio don't have offensive chemistry, they do have defensive chemistry together and thats important to stopping Stamkos which is the key to the series IMO.

I know Stunkos is good, but are we not focussing way too much on him? Let him score his 3-4 goals, we won't stop him completely. Just make sure the other weenies/cokeheads don't score and we win regardless.

The best I see about the lines above is that we can make an argument for any of them against Stamkos, which is important on the road where we don't really get to choose.

I found Plekanec has zero chemistry with Bourque - shocking I know! Not sure who on this team he has chemistry with....
