Habs News & Notes: 2014 Offseason & Training Camp

I have a hard time seeing the Habs offering Bouillon a contract, we have too many defensemen knocking at the door to add a veteran on the roster.

I wished another D would have stepped up to close the issue however but sadly neither Pateryn or Tinordi have been convincing.

Probably..and gives him a chance to sign with another team before those teams finalize their rosters.

Was kinda hoping he'd make the team as an extra forward (or agree to go to Hamilton to start the season), but oh well.

I think it was decided before camp started that NB and JT would be on the team this season. Our d-man coach let it slip out just before camp opened when he told a reporter that both were going to see a lot of ice-time in the NHL as of this season.

I agree that this was most probably the plan going in, and nothing has really disrupted that plan despite a few underwhelming performances by Tinordi.

Pleasantly surprised to see Dietz still around.

He's doing pretty good, actually sticking out more than pateryn did.

I like this kid because on top of some offensive upside he shows a physical presence too.

Dietz was picked in the 5th round of the 2011 draft. His teammate, Duncan Siemens, was picked 11th overall by the Colorado Avalanche. There were reports from even early into both of their post-draft seasons that Dietz was outplaying Siemens and by the end of the 2013 season when the Saskatoon Blades were in the Memorial Cup, Dietz was playing half the game in all situations while Siemens was playing on the second pairing.

But Duncan Siemens is Big.... Hurr, Derr.

Never was a fan of Siemens, and still don't understand how he went so high... other than the size.
