Happy for him. He finally found his game and with the cap set to rise enough the contract isn't terrible. May turn out to be a rare case of the back end of a contract being better than the front end.

Slaf just turned 21, already two seasons of 50 points under his belt. Still lots of upside.

I agree, trading would be like when we traded LeClair IMO, it will bite us in the arse. LeClair took 3 seasons before he took off, albeit with the flyers..

Slafkovsky does not skate as well as Leclair. I was pissed when they traded Leclair.

I'll be patient with him sure, my point was that drafting Cooley would not have been a mistake though.

In my opinion we're not just missing a 2C but also a 2LW.

Laine is not the answer. We have Demidov for a second line currently, that's it. Now Dach could possibly slot in at 2LW and with a competent center create a good second line.

We need a 2C . I would like to see what Laine and Demidov do together.. Laine is frustrating but i don't see anyone trading for him until next year deadline.. Dach can always go to the wing if not traded for 2C.. Main focus has to be a 2C..
