“Dobson is at a different point in his career than Hutson, not to say one is better than the other. But, in the world of contracts, RFA years are worth substantially less than UFA years, and teams generally have to fork up more money for those years when a player could have tested free agency,” said a source.

“His contract comparable wouldn’t be Dobson in this case, it would be more like (Jake) Sanderson or (Brock) Faber or (Quinn) Hughes, who signed long-term deals as 10.2(c) RFAs,” said the source. “It’s about comparing apples to apples here, even though I think Hutson could be elite.”

Therrien wasn't that bad, you just have it for him for some reasons.
Mad Mike is what you need when you are a team on way up, he can get you partly there (like he did with Penguins) or with us for 2001-2003 or 2012-2017 but he isn't the guy to put you over the top (we did win 96 games with him between 2013 and 2015 so he wasn't all bad).

As an aside, a woman I know from Connecticut dated him and apparently Mike is a man amongst men.

I will take my chances with a 6`2" 210 pounds vs 5`9" 165

I luv Hutson but JAKE is a 200 foot monster with elite wheels and on a great contract
I'd take my chances with Lane Hutson. The kid is a STAR. In three seasons, Jake never had a season as good as Lane's rookie season.
And for all it's worth Lane finished ahead of Jake in the Norris race last year.
If we want to talk defense, Lane was -5 while Jake was minus 14, on a better team.
Nothing against Jake, he's great, but we have a rare gem in our hands.
