Sure, but having an edge on other teams because "our third RHD >>> whoever Toronto has" means little to nothing for me.

Put our vaunted third/fourth line againt the Matthews, McDavid or Pettersson line and tell me how that's going to work out for us. I would guess that, more often than not, it won't end well.

nobody is saying that building a solid bottom 6 is the path to glory, but doing so is better than not

last season the team had nobody to fill in when Byron got hurt -- that is pretty sad when you think of it.

Yup , for years the best we had were trash like Hudon , DLo , and what we we can find on the scrap heap

Having a legit interchangeable middle 6 available for 56 games is a huge bonus .

That’s why you put the Danault line against them. They have very good possession numbers and then you hope the rest of your team is better than theirs. Only way to win without elite talent.
 
The Western Conference executive we spoke with said he should be.

“I would take Corey Perry before I’d take Wayne Simmonds,” he started. “He’s obviously not the player he used to be -- neither of them are -- but he’s good on the walls and getting pucks out, and with the way Montreal plays, he’s going to be a good fit.
 
This taxi squad setup allowed a lot of teams to get a head start on getting support players at the deadline without parting with that proverbial 2nd round pick.

Almost all CDN teams again, it’s unbelievable how restricted the US based GMs seem to be and how CDN teams have owned the off-season for the first time since pre-94 lockout IMO

Normally I wouldn't care about us signing Perry past his prime, but I'm an all-Canadian division, he might come in handy. I'm liking the depth on the team.
 
I hope most Montrealers will be vaccinated on time for the July parade down Sherbrooke street
 
Its hard to take much issue with the signings of either Perry and Frolik, as unlike other teams we have discussed (Ottawa)there doesn't seem to be a bevy of prospects about to lose ice time as a result.
