Habs sign Jeff Petry to six-year, $33 million deal

MONTREAL -- The Canadiens agreed to terms on a six-year contract with defenseman Jeff Petry on Tuesday through the 2020-2021 campaign.

Acquired at the trade deadline in March, Petry played 19 regular season games with the Canadiens, registering three goals and seven points during that span, in addition to putting up a minus-3 differential.

The Michigan native added two goals and three points in 12 postseason contests.

No idea on money value so far. Nothing came out but this. I'm very curious on the money as well and overall value of the contract.

Habs 2015-2016 defense without a doubt will be much better with this signing. This let Marc to focus on getting a quality top 6 and try to trade Emelin maybe.
