Kinkaid was barely better than Niemi last season... hopefully he returns to form.

True... but it just feels like he'd be more capable of taking over for an extended period of time if Price were injured.

Yes he had a bad season but his sv % for years prior quite consistent:

2014-15: 0.915 (19 games)
2015-16: 0.904 (23 games)
2016-17: 0.916 (26 games)
2017-18: 0.913 (41 games)

Yeah....not sure he has ever been very good. Halak was excellent for the Bruins in that role,this guy is probably more of what we have seen in recent years when the backup has given up far too many points. Maybe we need to spend a little more for a little better. What happened to our ability to develop our own goalies?
