Hello Jake!

Supposedly it’s a broken finger, he’s supposed to be back shortly. He skated yesterday morning, so, while I don’t think we’ll see him on the weekend, it’s not out of the question to see him in a week.
It’s an oblique injury that has kept him out of the lineup.

Some quotes from Jake Guentzel

“I know what the team has done in the past and how close they’ve been. I’m just really excited for the opportunity,” Guentzel said. “This is a special team. They’ve got a lot of high-end players and they’re really well coached.”

“You want to score goals in this league,” he said. “It’s always a good thing when guys are setting you up. Shooting the puck and scoring goals is the biggest thing. If that’s what comes of this, I’m excited for the opportunity. I’m excited to get there.”

“[Aho] is just a special player,” Guentzel said. “You watch from afar and you play against him, (he has) a 200-foot game and his offensive abilities are pretty special. If I get the opportunity to play alongside him, it’s a special honor. If you look at the lineup, if you play with pretty much anyone, you’re playing with a pretty good player still.”

It's always nice to hear a player speak highly of the team he is being traded to. Sometimes it's just saying what's expected, but I liked Jake's interview because he really seemed excited about this opportunity.

Frank Seravalli said it was a broken finger......so it probably means he doesn't :ROFLMAO:
You're thinking of his first life. Since he got purged from TSN for getting a lot of stuff wrong for a so-called insider, Frank turned into maybe the most reliable source in hockey media. If he says Guentzel had a broken finger, then he did ... or the team told him that it was a broken finger to hide the oblique problem.

I liked Bunting, and felt like he was a pretty good fit and seemed to like playing here. Hate to see him go,
But this could be a massive trade come playoff time.

I guess I’m in the minority but I wasn’t a fan of Buntings game in Carolina.
I was a fan of his fore checking, for sure, and he was useful in the high slot on the power play. Otherwise, he had real trouble finding a role where he could consistently be a plus player 5v5. In Toronto when playing with better line mates, he generated a ton of stuff driving the crease and tying up defenders but we didn't see much of that here. It would have been nice to have when he was playing on Aho's line, for sure. I thought he found a role he could handle when he settled in opposite Necas ... which was mostly just retrieving the puck off the wall after little Marty made chaos happen.

Thing is ... I'm never sure how much of that stuff is the player not fitting in vs the coaches/system not allowing guys to be themselves sometimes. Probably a bit of both, most of the time.
