HHN/ESPN/TNT ... broadcasting access, tips and notes

I like to be able to flip between games. That’s a minus.

I would way way rather give my 100 to HHN through Prime etc. than to a cable company as part of a random bundle that ends up costing 100 plea per month.

I got YouTube TV sports package at a discount for 8 months. It has everything except HHN and the prime stuff for less than 100 per month total (YTTV + HHN)

I expect the technology will catch up and handle the switching between apps better.

Yes, a multiview feature between apps would be awesome.

That is one reason I like DTV Stream.......its not as seamless as that yet, but if you have the dongle to stream from instead of the TV App, all of the streaming apps are contained within with DVR list......so I can easily switch from Prime, to Apple, to Britbox, etc...and it is a lot faster than the TV apps. It's also worth getting the dongle because you get free Hulu and Disney plus if you buy the dongle. It is streaming, but it acts like the old school cable/satellite tv services instead of a streaming app. I pay less than $100

seemed like DTV Stream was more than 100 if you wanted the sports package. Not the case?
Maybe i was grandfathered in since I have been with them so long that I am getting a deal, but I pay $89.99. I dont have to get the extended sports package because my package gives me all the channels i need for what I watch...ACCN, BiG, SEC, ESPN Unlimited, all the Fox Sports, CBS Sports. THe disney, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited is free because I bought the dongle for $69. Only thing i pay extra for is Acorn TV for my British shows I like to watch. This is copied from my Bill

CHOICE $79.99
Acorn TV $9.99
Disney+, Hulu Bundle $0.00
ESPN Unlimited $0.00
Unlimited In-Home Streams $0.00
Unlimited Hours of Cloud DVR$0.00 $10.00

The DirecTV package I bought, then cancelled, was $49.99 1st month then $64.99 after that. But without HNN, I'm not interested. It has the DVR feature.

Yeah, pretty sure you're on a grandfathered rate plan. I was paying more like $110 for the basic stuff plus the sports package a couple of years ago when I pulled the plug on DirecTV/Uverse/Whatever.

Filing with the patent office before any of y'all do -- a remote control-type device/interface on which you can press a button to record brief snippet of audio of any commercial you hate from any device, after which it will recognize that audio going forward and send a mute signal to the audio source until that commercial is over. Implementations could include IR emitters, Bluetooth, Phone/tablet/computer apps...

I'm sure that's never been thought of before :)
Internet patent searching is a lot easier now than using the PTO library over at DH Hill, which I did in the mid 90s (yes, I'm a co-inventor on 8-12 big ass solar thermal systems, remnants of which are strewn about and repurposed behind the McKimmon Center). Unless you like being distracted by young co-eds, which I found a pleasant diversion.
