But she sucks.
They dont care about quality. They only care about the bottom line. Is any fan addicted to this team going to not watch just because the play by play person is lousy? And Lalonde is far from the only announcer out there who's terrible.

That guy who does the games on 690 and occasionally on TSN has an annoying sybilant "s" to his speech; an ever so slight lisp. Not as pronounced as Stu Cowan from the Gazette, but just enough to annoy a person who has to listen to him.

Unfortunately, on the English side, Habs fans have not been blessed over the past 30 plus years. For years, we had the best. Danny Gallivan and Dick Irvin. Irvin would also do Habs games on CJAD radio as well as, occasionally, the late Glenn Cole. But since the dawn of the regional sports channels, the pickin's have been slim. And every time we get a good one (John Bartlett, Dan Robertson) they get poached by another market.

The best play by play guy we've had over the last couple of decades on the radio was Dino Sisto, who destroyed his career by being a sex pest.

Jessica Mendoza is fine, like many analysts, she talks too much

In football, for the most part, women are sideline reporters, some of the top ones, Jenny Dell, Jen Hale, Erin Andrews, Tracey Wolfson, Kristina Pink (yes that really is her name).

Lauren Shehadi is pretty good for basketball.

I also like Jamie Erdahl who is now on NFL Network.

Kay Adams is pretty good too.

Mina Kines is fine, just too political for me.

Im guessing Mina is antifa, right?

I generally dont like women in the booth for any reason. It just doesn't sound "right" to my ears but I was raised during the golden age of play by play and I realize that time only moves in one direction. So this is what the future holds and we're stuck with it.

But if I had to choose one or the other, I'd prefer that the woman do play by play because no analysis from a woman is going to be worth shit. It's bad enough having to endure Jennifer Botterill every Saturday night. Just because she played women's hockey doesn't mean she knows jack shit about real hockey.

I don't know if Mina is antifa but after this post she would certainly call you a sexist misogynistic mediocre white male pig.

The NHL is not a meritocracy. The team with back to back Cups is 14th but the team that has won fuck all in going on 6 decades is number 1 and number 2 has 1 Cup in the last 85 years.
