In Leafs Forum History... an anthology.

Sports Bar was on st Clair. I live nearby — they turned it into an esports bar (think it still is).

My faith has been restored after all this time.

I believe you but it's funny because I was eyeballing getting one around that time. Not sure how I mistakened it. Probably just assumed you were heading for the ugly car as we left.

I was at floyds and at a Boston pizza or east side meet up and the one on st.Clair.
Jonas was there I’m pretty sure. LN too.

Remember meeting up in aurora with BG to shoot some pool too. Good times.

I dunno if Floydian would be over the moon over this team. I got him in, into business with many of the top Leafs and he was pretty ensconsced with some of our best players.

I don't know if he could weave his way into this present group of guys.

We have an interesting team now. Still, very, very, very young.

I met with my "contact" today, and he is doing some huge real estate deals with some "interesting" Leaf contacts.

He admitted he is so busy now, his observation and interface with the Leaf brass is not as much as most years.

We both postulated that because of the cap, many of the present Leafs could be gone soon. Interestingly, Dubas doesn't seem shy about making transactions.

He pointed out something very significant to me today. MLSE flexed their muscle signing Nylander and paying him so much money in bonus money.

He said as soon as Nylander shows something, he will be a massive trade chip, because although he has a big AAV and is a big cap hit, his underlying salary has been halved almost, half paid out. He said, "teeder" this is a business, this will make NYlander a huge, massive trade chip. Sure you get the cap hit, but you get a player who is actually only making 3 million something a year.

Made a lot of "cents"

So yeah, keep an eye on Nylander, if he actually does something, and maybe he will, maybe some team like St. Louis, takes a stab on the diva. I am not hopefull on him doing much of anything, but maybe he gets hot for a few games, and then Dubas will strike.

Not a big deal was made out of it, but the Leafs basically turned Nylander into a 3 million dollar player a year.

Lol, he is primed for being traded to the Yotes actually.

Well I started off on topic, but added what I added, cause heck, it was late and I was up for only a few minutes and was too lazy to switch threads.

Some of my favourite memories... GLG's absolute loathing of all things Pat Quinn
For the record, I still do. :)

You forgot start of all this, at least for some of us: canoe.ca had some forums there, and myself and Floydian started there, along with others. From there, to Hockeyboards, which became Fanhome, (at one time, the most popular forum on the internet), then purchased by (and destroyed by...) Scout.

After that, there was a brief stint at proboards, after which TSB was began.

That's when NEsince92 decided the Leaf board mods were not to his liking, and dumped them all... :knife: :facepalm

Truth is, I was about to join here, but some former posters made some truly disgusting comments about my dead mother, and I just decided "**** it."

As I was walking down memory lane recently, I was poking through some old remnants from the past. Found a few gems that reminded me of the old days when I was a forum junkie. I remember you guys all coming here, and decided to come by to see if it was still alive.

I see it is.

Some gems from the past:

Why don't you get the hell off the board GLG?

I am getting sick of listening to your crap.

It was Kaberle's fault for not clearing the puck. Don't comment if you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Miss you, Floydian. :(

and this...
tranes_last_post.jpg

"Trane" was a baseball fan, and an employee in one of the towers hit on 9/11. That was his final post on Fanhome… note the date and time... :(
