Fedotov last year, and then played 3 games for the Flyers.

Only difference is that it was just after his Russian team was eliminated (but he had another year remaining on his contract).

IF SKA is willing to let Demidov go, I’m not sure why Bettman would care. It’s good for the league.

Very common after a season ends from various leagues.

I'm running under the assumption that he isn't just let go but some sort of "deal" is made.

I mean he isn't even allowed to be loaned to another khl team.

Of course none of this matters because he will not be released.

I could see him coming after the season but
I'd also rather him not burn an ELC year for 3 games like fedotov.
 
I wonder if Habs offer up SKA vs Habs home & home exhibition games / series as a way to generate $ or is that against NHL rules?

who cares about a year of ELC? If you can get him here, do it
