I'd prefer him to be the next Fedorov because he was more well-rounded defensively and not a douche, but I guess having the next Kucherov is good too.

But also much better defensively than Michkov. I doubt that MSL will ever need to ream Demidov out on the bench like Torts did to Michkov.
From what I can tell, Demidov appears to be a good/very good defensive player.
I don't think Fedorov was a Selke contender from day one. Looking at Demidov's offensive potential combined with his defensive potential... Fedorov might be a possible ceiling for him.
