It just makes no sense for the Habs to not do everything they can to get him here ASAP.
A. He's in Russia... You know... The place that is in the middle of a war. The place where people who "disrespect" the motherland fall.out of windows.

I believe that Demidov would have to buy himself out of his contract (if SKA would even be interested in that), which doesn't expire until May 31.

Jeffie could likely help with the buy out.
I doubt that. Demidov's agent, Dan Millstein, is the more likely "helper" here, through a loan or something similar.
