Except that the Rocket also need to make money. They have fans, fans with kids who can't afford to pay for Habs tickets. You can't deliberately screw with them just because.

Besides, this isn't the final, just the second round. If the Rocket advance Fowler will get more opportunities to shine in games that matter.

The Habs can get away with that. No other team in any sport in that market can.

All of them died at least in part because fans stopped caring. But no one stops caring about the Habs, ever. The Habs can afford to take a "fuck the fans" attitude. But the Rocket? Nuh-uh. They have to grind (and they grind very well) but in that market it all boils down to winning.

That’s a dumb stance if in fact they made the decision. And who the fuck is Anthony Deaaulniers ? Never heard of this mofo.

Imagine a long playoff run where Mailloux puts up 20 points and wins the MVP. His value goes through the roof in any trade discussions. But no let’s throw that possibility away for a goalie who won’t be in the NHL next season.

Someone is trying to protect Vincent’s rep and future NHL prospects (might be Vincent and his mouthpieces themselves).

It’s one thing to insert Kapanen over Simoneau but the goalie thing is a total screw up. He tried to big brain it and it backfired.

If the whole org is so invested in Fowler to the point that Sal says, then I fully expect Fowler in net today. Let’s see how bullish they are.
