The truth is AHL head coaches have a better shot than assistants in the NHL to land another HC if their club does well.

There's a long list of NHL head coaches who "failed" in their first NHL HC job, then went to the AHL to coach, and then got another NHL HC job and did much better the second time. I suspect that Vincent will eventually be part of that group.
