I don't think Ylonen has a shot in hell of making it.
His big opportunity to make it was last season when the team was ravaged by injuries. Now, however, he's not in front of Slaf, or RHP, or maybe even Anthony Richard. And with a surplus of players already in the NHL, he's going to need a series of injuries just to have an opportunity for a call-up.
Or someone will be interested since he's picked up his play. Move him for a third. Someone will do it. Colorado? He's better than Hudon.I don't think Ylonen has a shot in hell of making it.

Cheap middle 6 forward to replace the many slugs departingHe might get a game here or there, but outside of that, I see no real path for him to the NHL at this point.
Ylonen's opportunity was last year and it told me everything I needed to know about him. We had the worst roster in the league, there were injuries/Covid up the wazoo, and he couldn't stick then. He didn't even do anything that wanted me to see him in the lineup more than what he got. That's a massive red flag for me.
If he does make it in the NHL, what's his role? He doesn't seem to have the offensive chops to be a top-6 player and he doesn't seem to have the defensively capabilities for a bottom-6 role.
Ylonen & RHP never stood a chance under HuGo - new management only want their own prospects unless it’s an inherited can’t miss type. Happens all the timeYlonen is running out of time. He can still make it as a middle six winger but the clock is a ticking.
