Laval Rocket Thread

No Mysak either. At some point they have to move on from the Bourques and Gignacs if they want to develop the younger ones.
 
Let's be honest for a second. Looking at that Laval roster in tonight's game...

Heineman - Maillet - Roy
Kidney - Stephens - Armia
Farrell - Gignac - Andersson
Simoneau - Condotta - Bourque

Norlinder - Mailloux
Trudeau - Lindstrom
Struble - P.-Bisson

Dobes
Mann

How many players on there do you realistically think are going to have an NHL career (career defined as 7+ years, 500+ games)?

I think there are three that have realistic chances (Roy, Heineman & Mailloux) and three as longshots to making it (Kidney, Farrell, Trudeau).

...Which is about par for the course for about 50% of NHL franchises. Most organizations have an AHL team that doesn't have a ton of realistic NHL prospects.

Mysak couldn't score at 18 in the OHL, couldn't score in Europe or the AHL at 19, still couldn't score in the OHL at 20, couldn't score in the AHL at 21. Points aren't the end-all-be-all, but if you're in the OHL at 20 years old and you're barely above a PPG? Sorry, it's virtually impossible that the NHL is in your future.
 
What about Davidson , will he get a legit shot? You would think at some pont some of these players will get shipped to Trois Rivieres.
 
I’m not quite sure why we bother with the Maillet, Gignac, Stephens, Bourque when we have some actual prospects sitting out. One or two like Condotta I understand but it seems like too many.
 
Two reasons, I suppose. Need to play the top prospects with vets, so they learn how to play the right way. Second, Quebec players add to the marketability of the team.
 
I think they’re still going through the cut process. Give everyone some ice time and see who takes advantage of it.

I don’t buy the marketability but it makes sense to get local vets. I just think there is 2-3 too many right now.
 
4-3 loss, tied the game late in the 3rd and then gave up the lead 13 seconds later, terrible. Roy 1 G, 1 A, 10 shots on goal. 2 G for Andersson.
8 shots for Armia and one assist. Mysak was -3.
