Leaf Rumours

all the more reason to keep all of phaneuf, kaberle, schenn, beauchemin and komisarek on your blueline....

I still think that's one of the bottom 3 (Beauch, Komi, Schenn) too many, with Beauch or Komi the preferred man out imo.

Schenn is too good for bottom pair minutes, and is making some very nice strides with his puck handling recently.

True, it is. But we're both guilty because I'm sure you've read the reports about Atlanta refusing to let anyone talk to Kovy beforehand.

I was positing a complete hypothetical...pretty sure that if the offer was substantial enough, Atlanta would back down on that demand.

In fact, there's no reason not to. Kovy isn't staying, and it would get significantly more in return.

I usually have a good comeback but that ****er knows he has my number.

The odd thing is j-dub loves it.

I kind of wish Komi wasn't hurt. I think he was brought in for leadership and for some reason he hasn't "lead" (his voice is pretty faggoty (a la Louis CK definition)

If Phaneuf is the real deal, and if Komi were playing well, I would rather keep Beauch... as at least he has a pretty good shot from the point. And trade Komi.

Schenn can learn from Phaneuf about aggression. Komi would be great for a team looking for some veteren presence on the blue line.

Strickland says his money is on Stempy going to Edmonton or Buffalo.

Edmonton??

Stemps an expiring contract, so the Leafs would probably get back a couple picks along with a player who has a contract beyond this year (like ethan moreau).

Edmonton moves a contract. Toronto gets more than they would typically get for Stemp by taking on a bad contract.

There's no other reason why Edmonton would want Stemp.

They likely wouldn't be dealing us an expiring contract, and certainty not for Stemp, as he's owed more dough than his cap hit.

If they dealt for him, they'd want to dump a contract with term, like Moreau, as Player pointed out.

If I'm Edmonton that's a brutal deal. Why would they give up basically a low first and a low 2nd just to dump 2 mill or whatever he makes for one more season?? Craziness.
