I believe that they are taking the whole "ask high and settle for a smaller offer later that was commensurate with what you originally wanted" principle to a radical extent...

Doubt it, with Nonis saying "Bozak isn't a priority" and with the Leafs trading away their 2nd/4th rounder for Bolland it seems the Leafs aren't desperate at all for Bozak to return.

If Leafs think they have no shot at Lecavalier they should definitely get Bozak signed..and I agree with Jays, they're trying to ask high and probably settle somewhere in between..4.25X6 years i say..It's good enough imo.
 
I can't understand how they are even talking to Bozak right now. Lets say you sign him. Now you have to buyout Grabo, and you are in the exact same position you were in before, still needed to upgrade on Bozak/Grabo, except Bozak/Grabo is now signed to a longer, worse deal and you can't buy him out anymore.

I'm sorry but they don't need Bozak, they already have Kadri/Grabo/Bolland/Mcclement.

Yes they do need him..Nobody on there can win faceoffs and if you don't think it's important well then i don't know what to tell you..Also if Mac is gone we'll need to keep going offensively..Not to mention Grabo can be up and down..Also, I think Bolland will be used more as a shutdown guy and no way of knowing what kind of season Naz will have(i'm going to guess 50-55 pts).
