Leaf Rumours

Leafs are all over COOKE. And dump Bozak to dump Kessel? Whenever did I say that? I said if they want to sign Kessel they had better sign Bozak and I said they were trying to sign Bozak this morning. And I said Clarkson was done, and the said recently Clarkson was essentially done, as I knew certain things had hindered it somewhat.

But guess what? Clarkson bought a house in Toronto recently. Anyone report that on the internet? I haven't seen it.

And look for Cooke to be signed by the BUDS.

Latest on Phaneuf, no one interested. They will be stuck with him. For the year. Unless he gets hot and can be traded.
 
I'd prefer what Zeke projected 3.5 per would be good. He was probably the second best defenseman in the playoffs
 
Franson deserves 4 mil. I think this guy has another level too. This year he learned to be a bit more physical(improvement over his other year for sure) and the fact he wasn't playing top minutes for quite awhile, i think his numbers can be even better. Get it done!
 
Yeah...if he wants long term at reasonable money, give it to him. 25 yrs old, top 10 among both hits and scoring...sign him, and start playing him 20+ a game with a good partner.
 
Franson is worth $4m. Don't make the mistake the Habs did with PK. Short changed him, PK gets pissed and wins the Norris and now? It'll cost $6.5M at least to keep him when all he asked for was $5M on a 5 year deal. Stupid mistake.

Letang just got 7+ mil with the cap going down.... PK will be much closer to 8+ mil than 6.5

....PK, after this last contract debacle with Bergevin, is going to hold them to the coals. He just beat out Letang for the Norris and will demand more in contract value. Enjoy your 8 million dollar PP specialist.
 
Boy Grabovski sure did a don't do. Two teams that wanted to sign him have backed off over his comments. I think he is just good enough to get signed somewhere, but the old boys network, from what I am hearing wouldn't mind seeing him have only KHL access.

The hidden hand behind the NHL doesn't like its product, brand or corportation heads(coaches) being besmirched. This could be interesting. Problem for them is, he would fit very well on Nashville or Washington. Be interesting to see if he goes unsigned.

MacT offered him seven years at six million. Problem for MacT was Clarkson had alrleady bought a house in T.O. And his parents are in Mimico. And of course the relationship he has with Wendel.
 
If the rumour about him wanting a Voynov/Shattenkirk type deal is true, then that's just four million a year on a medium term deal. So, for Franson, sign me up on that. I have no problem with the Leafs locking him up long-term for a reasonable price. He's going to flourish even more this year, if he actually gets a real defense partner instead of having Fraser anchored to him.
