Leaf Rumours

Kadri has been outplayed by Bozak, Bolland, and now Holland. Him being shopped would not be a surprise but absolute nonsense that no one is interested

Hilarious. Most complained about Bozak being incompetent offensively and defensively for a long time..Then he goes out and now people are missing him? Naz does pretty much exactly same(more than capable on that line) and now people think he's struggling? No he's not. Never seems enough. Problem with the first line is that JVR and Kessel are very similar with what they have to offer(speed and rush play, weak defensively and weak board play). They need to mix it up. Nothing else to it.

Naz struggling is putting up a better point pace than anything Bozak has done over a season in his career...

But sadly, nothing would surprise me with an organization that gives out 37 million dollar contracts to limited players with "heart" and "grit".

Larry Brooks of the New York Post: "Boy oh boy, would the Maple Leafs love to find a taker for Nazem Kadri."

yeah, I'm sure the Leafs would love to trade the most skilled centre they have with absolutely nothing on the horizon to replace him. makes perfect sense.

Sure Naz has the skill, but Holland has stepped in admirably on the second line, and despite what we think Naz is a second line centre. I ain't saying that Holland is better than Naz, but as a second line centre we now seem to have a bigger bodied centre that will be cheaper in the long run.

I don't make the move, but if someone offers me something big for a package of say Franson and Naz, I might think about it.

He's not just that the Leafs are shopping him though.

He's saying they're pretty much desperate to move him but can't find anyone who wants him.

Yeah, that's the big issue I have. He's painting it as the Leafs desperately want to get rid of Kadri, but no one wants him. It's ****ing laughable. he's 23 years-old. He was picked 7th overall. He makes less than 3 million per, and he scored 44 points in 48 games last season. Only on the Toronto Maple Leafs would this claim be made.

It's getting tiresome. I can't believe people will believe that.

I don't see the point in moving Naz unless it is a package for a top C. With what we have been experiencing with injuries and suspensions to the C position i don't see the point in trading our most skilled/highest potential 22 year old C because we have 3 2nd line C's.

Naz isn't sheltered this year behind the Bozak line and has had to face stiffer competition. His point totals have so far regressed this season as we reach the halfway mark.

Hoping that when Bozak gets back we will have two lines with legit scoring threats and he gets back on track.

Holland has looked good, but i wouldn't be pencilling him into any top-9 spot just yet.

Only way we should trade Kadri is if we are able to get a stud centre or defender back. Even then, we still dont know exactly what we have in Kadri.

The only way I'd want to move Naz would be if it was for a better center in the same age group as him. So, if John Tavares up and decided that he was finished with the shit show on Long Island, that'd be a scenario I'd be interested in.

Otherwise, no ****ing thanks.

Coming into this season I thought Naz-Clarkson would make a good combo on the 2nd line, but unfortunately things haven't really panned out given Clarkson's apparent hands of stone along with the suspensions and injuries. Kadri also seems to look disinterested for long stretches, and then he'll have a game where he actually gets involved physically and makes things happen, but then it's back to the status quo.

I know that many are saying we'd need another young centre in the deal, but I think Carlyle and Nonis realize the need for some experience. Would LA look to move someone like Mike Richards?? Minnesota's Mikko Koivu. Or would Edmonton look to make a move on one of there centres for Kadri and Franson.. ie Eberle or Nuge Is Ryan O Reilly worth it?? Could Winnipeg wanna blow things up and give up their captain Ladd (I know he's a winger)

I'd love to have Tavares on this team, and I'd do a package for him involving Kadri but I doubt the Islanders do a Tavares for Kadri swap though.

Well that can be taken a few ways:

1) Brooks is full of shit (most plausible scenario)
2) Nazem Kadri is a perceived problem child that GM's are shying away from
3) The asking price is too high

I don't see Nonis looking to dump Kadri at all, he is young and might need to simply mature more like Subban needed. If he is being shopped at all the asking price will be high and GM's will pass.

It's easy to write one provocative sentence and try to pawn it off as journalism.
