Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

I don't know where i slot them in, but some notes:

- Steeves is absolutely crushing it. Yeah he's too old to be a prospect but given his solid all around skillset, him turning into an elite ahl producer should earn him a real chance here.

- apparently Webber is actually a bit of a defensive and pk beast even as a rookie.

- i've liked Malinoski since draft day and he's only a point or two off a legit exciting prospect pace at his age/level

- Holinka actually not off to as good a start as i hoped but i think the production is coming on nicely.

We're long past due on Steeves getting an opportunity to stick in the NHL. Could easily be as good as McMann or better.

They just have too much depth. If they wanted to give Steeves a shot they'd have to waive Reaves, or Myers, or Holmberg, or Lorentz.

well so far this year in the small sample he's bumped up his performance to a whole new level. being a 60-70pt type AHLer at 23/24 isn't much, but being a goal-heavy 90-100pt type is interesting no matter what the age. Especially since Steeves isn't some kind of undersized one dimensional type. And from the highlights it sure looks like him taking charge out there not just capitalizing on others' work.

Steeves (22): 33/65 pace
Steeves (23); 23/64 pace
Steeves (24): 33/69 pace
Steeves (25); 74/98 pace

but for now it's just a small sample.

don't get too excited. holmberg is the same age as steeves and was a better AHL producer and plays C.
