They basically said everybody was shit so they just went with big guys. Blame the semen in 2006-2007.

It runs deeper than that. The white part of the city, despite living in & around a world class city with one of the highest costs of living on the planet, insists on trying to see itself as some sort of working man's, lunchbox capital of the fucking world. The organization mirrors that and further insists that hockey is only played one way (in the 1980's, where I guess we peaked or something?) and by one type of player. We're fucking enamoured with no talent plugs who will block multiple shots with their face to lose in 6 gritty games to an actually skilled team in the conference finals.

Occasionally we luck into a few talented players that keep us from being shit for a decade.
