Leafs - Sens - Habs 2013-14

Easy now. I'm not afraid of flying or anything.

I just find the experience shitty. Jammed in like sardines, lost luggage, ect.

Gotcha. That's where you need to **** with the right travel rewards credit cards, etc. First class check in & luggage, airport lounges, flight upgrades on points, etc.

Yeah, I feel that. Though you can still rip off a bunch of short, fairly inexpensive culture trips. Anything south of Panama though and you run into the problem of 7 days just not being enough.

It's just a lot easier to get away from life for a week at a time for most people. A lot of careers simply aren't conducive to ****ing off to S.E Asia for 4 weeks.
Bingo. I don't get "vacation time" per se.

Any time I take off is time I'm not earning. So anything more than 2 weeks away at a time and I start getting distracted.

Well, also depends what you want from your vacay. I'm not much of a resort person, I'd rather live like a hobo and get to explore new places/cultures and do things other than sit on the beach. Also different if you're doing a couple trip too I suppose.

This summer I did a month in southeast asia, for what I spent could have likely done several smaller Caribbean/resort type trips, but wouldn't change it in hindsight.

I prefer a mix of both.

I like to be able to relax. So sitting in a resort is good for that. Normally do that in the winter.

Summer is for culture/exploring. I actually wish it wasn't so expensive to travel in Canada.

So I was big enough to concede being wrong about Ryan/Kessel, will Habs fans do the same about their comparison of Subban/Karlsson?

D E.Karlsson (23): 58gms, 15gls, 54pts (82gms, 21gls, 76pts)
D P.K.Subban (24): 58gms, 8gls, 39pts (82gms, 11gls, 55pts)

Specifically, HP was saying their offense wasn't that far off.

Mindz also made a few mentions that if Karlssons offense hovers around PPG (like his Norris season) that he's a perennial contender and any defensive issues he might be perceived to have are off-set.

Looks like he's doing it again.

Yep, as long as nobody is close offensively. When he won his Norris, the spread between him and Weber was 27 points if memory serves. With Keith only 6 points behind him, he's not winning the Norris this season.

He's a pretty big step down from the other top 5-10 defenders on the other side of the puck. I'm fine seeing with seeing him win the Norris in season's where he's that far ahead offensively. This year, he isn't.

Subban's Norris was always a shit decision.

Subban's Norris was an embarassment. He wasn't even the #1 dman on his own team. Got the Norris for having a hot half season on the PP.

I don't expect him to win the Norris, to be clear. That wasn't the point of me mentioning your previous position.

The point is that sure the guy might make some glaring mistakes on occasion, but that is almost entirely offset by putting up 75ish points.

I would take a defenseman who scores 75 points any day and just deal with the defensive mistakes, for sure.

That said, from what the games I've seen I think Karlsson's looked even worse defensively this year.

Subban's bullshit Norris is being exposed as the crock that it was this season.

Love how Habs fans didn't have any good rationale for his Norris last season and have even less reason this year.

Yeah, he's a stud #1. I had questions about his ability to come back from an ugly achilles injury and he's clearly answered those.

Absolutely. But that is partially expected as he recovers 100% (mindz was right that it takes a full year - but looks like his doomsday prediction was wrong) and also due to Anderson's worse numbers. Defensive mistakes look inflated alittle.

Yeah, I've seen the games against the Leafs and a handful of others. Karlsson's about as exciting on the defensive end as he is on the offensive end.

Instead of niggling, you really just should have taken my money Corks. All I wanted was a 3 point spread to make it a wash ( I still stand by the statement that if I'm predicting 65, and he scores 67-68, that's a high enough degree of accuracy to claim I was correct)...and he's almost got that matched by the Olympic break.

You should have taken my money, homo.

As much as I'd love to, I'm just not a big gambler.
