League Discussion 2014

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft

So I am assuming the team I took over finished middle of the pack then?

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft

Pretty much. He stopped managing the team at some point, so it probably should have finished even higher. It's a pretty solid roster.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft

It's not a bad roster. A couple of head scratchers but keeper leagues are tough.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft

Alright...Let's get the Rookie Draft started.....Football Season starts now, Yippee !!

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft

Lol damn. I did not realize my team almost won it last year with that roster of mine

Re: Draft Discussion 2014

Any rookies that have been drafted in the rookie draft are free to keep for 3 years... so at 2 per year that's basically 6 at any given time. Whoever, you could potentially trade fore some rookie picks or players drafted in the rookie draft.

Axl gave us 12 rookie spots to be sure that we have room. Again though, make sure you only put players draft in the rookie draft in those spots.

Re: Draft Discussion 2014

This is the first time we have had access to minor league spots on the website, so we should flesh out the rules. I was thinking of maybe making it 6 spots per team. Any additional players could be kept as reserves. In the past, teams have abused the no-drop rule, if you have more than 6 it's usually going to be someone good enough to keep active anyway. Anyway think this is a good or bad idea?

Re: Draft Discussion 2014

With them actually being on your team at all times now I don't think there should be a problem. 6 isn't enough... I'd say we need at least 10 just in case you trade for rookies or rookie picks.

Re: Draft Discussion 2014

Yeah, that's the question. Making it 6 might add a little extra strategery to the league, but teams that trade for rookie picks may not like the idea. I will probably reduce it to 10 (at least), perhaps we could consider something like 8 or so as well.

Re: Draft Discussion 2014

Problem is that there's never been a limit on how many rookies you can own... not sure it would be right to implement one all of a sudden.

Re: Draft Discussion 2014

My argument is that those extra players would be active (or could be listed as reserves) anyway.
