Les Habitants Prospects Thread

Brock Trotter was a free agent sign up during the season. Apparently a highly skilled player but on the small side. He'll be interesting to watch.

CHL playoffs:

Olivier Fortier - 2 GP, 1 G, 0 A, +2, 4 PIM.

P.K. Subban - 4 GP, 3 G, 3 A, +3, 4 PIM.

Yannick Weber - 3 GP, 4 G, 1 A, E, 4 PIM.

Ryan White - 2 GP, 1 G, 2 A, +1, 0 PIM.

Ben Maxwell - 2 GP, 3 G, 1 A, +4, 4 PIM.

Division CCHA only. His center Kevin Porter was leading scorer and top player.

34 points in 34 games is pretty impressive for a freshman.

But there's a freshman dude named Carter Camper playing for Miami who had 38 points in 31 games. Damn. Still undrafted but a bit on the small side.

Belleville Bulls win in 5 games, advance to 2nd round. PK Subban with 8 points in 5, including a game wining goal in overtime.

In the ECHL, our diminutive center David Desharnais leads the league in scoring, and put up points in 27 games in a ROW, or something like that. :eek(16)::eek(16)::eek(16):

NHL has an article on him

Desharnais packs a complete game in small package

Go kid go

Little Lats has 24 points in 17.

Sheesh, that would be funny

Little Tits and Big Tits on one line

Little Lats and Big Lats on another line

That be almost as cool as the 5 Sutters on the ice at the same time,
or the 3 Stastnys and their son Paul at the point.

Actually Olivier is Big Lats... well in term of age anyway, definitely not of size.

I hope the Habs will resign that Desharnais kid and put him in Hamilton next season.

Not only does the 5-foot-6 Desharnais lead the ECHL in scoring with 78 points (20 goals, 58 assists) in 53 games, but his defensive prowess had guided him to a remarkable plus-32 rating. His play helped the Cyclones win a league-record 17 consecutive games, a stretch that finally came to an end in Stockton on March 1.

"He's a kid that we thought could come in and produce offensively," Weber said. "But what's really impressed me is his attention to detail, both offensively and defensively. He's improved so much this year with the defensive side of things. He's a kid that whoever you put with him becomes a better hockey player."

:thumbup1:

"Hamilton's so deep at forward this year," Weber said. "I think that's been a little bit of an issue. It would be my recommendation to them to not let him go. I think the kid has too much talent. He's going to get stronger. He's only 21. I think he's going to be even better next year.
"If he was four inches taller, he's in the National Hockey League," - Cincinnati Cyclones coach Chuck Weber

"There's been a lot of people who have called about him," Weber added. "If they didn't know he was under contract, they do now. He's had some success on a successful team. He's been a huge contributor. He's a guy you can count on every night, offensively and defensively."
