Les Habitants Prospects Thread

So are the rest of his team's stats. I think Webber is the beneficiary of a high scoring offense.

there is some truth to that

though he has a 24 to 6 lead in points over the next closest d man on the team

edit: and 3rd on the team in goals

but the OHL is crazy

Milroy shines in 'Dogs Shootout loss
11/09/07

HAMILTON, ON - Duncan Milroy notched a goal and three assists, including his 150th career AHL point, but it wasn't enough as the Hamilton Bulldogs dropped a 5-4 decision in a shootout to the Rochester Americans on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. With the shootout loss, Hamilton's record drops to 4-5-0-3 through 13 games this season.

With two goals in the first period, Hamilton jumped out to a 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs opened the scoring at the 7:43 mark when Cory Urquhart tipped home a Joel Bouchard shot from the point. Then at 10:26 of the frame, Matt D'Agostini deflected a Ryan O'Byrne shot right to Milroy who made no mistake potting his fourth goal of the season.

Maxim Lapierre increased the 'Dogs lead to 3-0 at 1:30 of the middle stanza when he picked up a loose puck and beat Amerks' netminder Adam Dennis with a backhand shot to the blocker side. O'Byrne and Milroy drew the helpers on Lapierre's team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Hamilton then made the score 4-0 at 12:07 of the second frame when D'Agostini notched his fourth goal of the campaign on the power play. Adding assists on the goal were Sergei Kostitsyn and Milroy, who earned his fourth point of the night and 150th career AHL point on the play.

Then they blew a 4-0 lead. :stunned:

Perhaps another steal of a pick

To add to the list of Kosti and D'Agostini.

I liked what I saw from him at the dev camp, maybe short on height but looked strong.

The Canadian Hockey League today announced that defenceman Yannick Weber of the Kitchener Rangers is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday October 28, 2007. Weber recorded five goals and three assists for eight points while guiding the Rangers to three consecutive victories.

On Wednesday October 24th, Weber registered two goals and one assist for three points in a 7-0 victory over the Erie Otters. He was named the games first star. Two nights later, Weber scored a pair of goals leading the Rangers to a 5-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires. On Sunday October 28th, the 19 year-old native of Bern, Switzerland netted a goal and two assists for three points in a 3-0 victory over the London Knights. His efforts weren’t overlooked as he was named the games first star.

Weber is in his second season with the Kitchener Rangers and is currently in second place in scoring amongst all OHL defencemen with 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists).

Re: Perhaps another steal of a pick

Yes....it's all good and all...

But can he be used on the 4th line from time to time ???

Time to package Halak, Ryder,Bou and get the best we can. If Huet is not resigned, he may go too unless we lose him to UFA.
I have no problem with Price(~70games) and Danis(or UFA signing). People shat on Danis but he has been good when he has been given the chance in the NHL.

Wolves hang on to beat Bulldogs

HAMILTON - Brett Sterling opened the scoring with two goals and the Chicago Wolves hung on for a 4-3 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday in the American Hockey League.

Chicago opened the scoring on the power play at the 8:25 mark of the first period when Sterling's wrist shot to the glove side slipped past Bulldogs netminder Yann Danis. Sterling then scored again at 12:04 of the period, shovelling a rebound into the back of the Bulldogs net.

Hamilton cut Chicago's lead to 2-1 at 18:10 of the first when Greg Stewart scored his first-career AHL goal. Jonathan Ferland, who drew the lone assist on the play, won the face-off straight back to Stewart who fired a high wrist shot to the top left corner of the net.

Bulldogs forward Eric Manlow registered his second goal of the season at 3:28 of the middle period to tie the game 2-2. Marvin Degon setup Manlow who blasted a shot over the right shoulder of Wolves' netminder Fred Brathwaite.

Hamilton (4-6-0-3) then took a 3-2 lead at 15:27 of the second frame when Janne Lahti banged in a loose puck at the side of Chicago's net. Corey Locke earned an assist on the goal and took sole possession of third place on the Bulldogs all-time scoring list with 166 points (57-109-166), surpassing Peter Sarno who posted 165 points (42-123-165) as a Bulldog.

Locke now needs 14 points to overtake Brain Swanson (71-108-179) and become Hamilton's all-time leading scorer.

The Wolves stormed out of the gate in the third period with two goals in a span of 1:26 to take a 4-3 lead. Fifty seconds into the frame, Jesse Schultz scored his seventh goal of the season to tie the game at three. Chicago's Andre Deveaux then scored the game's eventual winning goal at the 2:16 mark.

The Bulldogs were 0-for-4 on the power play while the Wolves went 1-for-2 with the man advantage. Danis turned aside 34 of 38 shots in a losing effort for Hamilton, while Brathwaite made 29 saves on 32 shots to earn the victory for Chicago.

Wow, coming out of nowhere, J.T. Wyman and a nice article in La Presse about him.

http://www.cyberpresse.ca/article/20071112/CPSPORTS0101/711120571/5128/CPSPORTS01

I was excited about him when we drafted him but he was so slow to develop anything that I had just written him off. But now he filled up physically (6'2, 212lbs) and he's tearing up the NCAA right now (5G, 4A in 5 games). Timmins and Berglund are really excited about him in the article. Nice to see and it shows why the Habs keeps drafting out of US College. The few more years of free development are paying off in this case.

I read that this morning...he looks real solid right now and will be 22 next year and much more mature than Major Jr players. We are stacked in terms of NCAA prospects and Americans...
