Nice. Although I can already hear the segment of the fan base saying that he is spending to much time on his other activities and not enough on his hockey.
 
Yep, which is unfortunate. What he's doing is a great thing.

Hard to think there are people who can see the smiles on those kids' faces and think he's doing "too much."

You do realize that, while it's awesome seeing the smiling faces of kids, he is building his brand right?

In response to the PK video, we forget sometimes that professional sports are a diversion and not primary. When athletes themselves acknowledge that by doing these types of things, it makes the outrageousness of their salaries a little more palatable. Good on PK and all the other athletes who try to give back.
 
PK is not hitting the next because of philanthropy. In fact, he knows full well that the latter depends on the former.
