Thing is, we’ve already made concessions prior to sitting down for negotiations. We cancelled our reciprocal tariffs, and then also cancelled the digital services tax when Trump pitched a fit about it on behalf of his techbroligarch backers.

Those concessions got us absolutely nothing in return except for continued tariffs, threats, insults and demands for more concessions. So this is the right move at this point. Time to draw a line in the sand.

I'm fine with melting it. But there's no need for multiple police units watching a fire truck spray cold water on it for a week.

A contractor steam truck with 1 extra laborer doing traffic control could do that for 1/10th of what its going to end up costing the city

we should be more proactive as a country in melting any and all buildups of snow and ice anywhere, at any time ... for "safety concerns" of course

Nice to see an American who actually gets it, at least a little bit. Too many Americans still just boil down the breakdown of the relationship to Canadians having a hissy fit about tariffs.

While ignoring the constant stream of insults, disdain, disrespect and explicit threats towards Canada from Trump, others in his administration and from Republican politicians across the country for the past year and a half.

There are lots of intelligent American politicians. Almost none of them, however, are Republicans.
