Yep. There's a certain irony in 2 things re: Nato for me
1) For all of their bitching and moaning over the years, the US is the only nation to trigger it
2) A key reason that few NATO member states don't hit the 2% of GDP figure they like to moan about is because we don't load things like healthcare, veterans care, and various other social services used by soldiers and veterans onto our military budget because social safety nets and shit. The VA's budget is over 300 Billion or roughly 1.1% of GDP unto itself. If you add all of it up, it's about 370B on an 880B budget.
