my conservative colleague was hilariously all up in arms this morning, going on about how this was just a JT cabinet redux. I then pointed out that he should wait for the actual cabinet to be announced before getting upset. kinda appears he was mostly right though. I haven't done a deep dive, but the big names in the big ministries are mostly JT carryovers.

which makes sense on one level, right. like Freeland should be in cabinet. she is capable and importantly the Dougie whisperer. same with Anand, Champagne, Leblanc. but they're also Trudeau guys.
 
If the Cons hate it, everyone else should love it. Keep all the cabinet ministers who trigger them the most as a reminder to them that they are not and never will be in charge. Keep feeding the hillbillies a steady diet of all the things they hate, like a parent forcing their kid to eat boiled brussels sprouts and overcooked liver.

Almost 1/4 of elected Liberals are in Cabinet, I don't know how much turnover should be expected. Do we really want a bag of brand new cabinet ministers taking on brand new roles when the PM campaigned on basically warp speed remaking the country?

I'm still on it so that I can troll the fascists (and Count. His particular style has not been welcomed at Bluesky so he has decided it's woke)
