New Canadian Politics Thread

So he’s running against an EV “mandate” which doesn’t exist because all the federal government has done is set unenforceable sales targets and committed to funding EV infrastructure. They let the federal incentive expire. But it’s Poilievre so campaigning against a boogeyman seems on brand.
How else is he gonna get elected in rural alberta!?!?

14 years in and you haven’t even hit 200K yet? You definitely do a lot less driving than I do.
Yeah, I have a fairly short commute (have for most of the life of the car), and although I've road-tripped quite a bit - Quebec, US Midwest a bunch and down to the London area every couple of months, I don't drive too much.

If you want to feel nervous, look up what pilots who work for regional airlines in the US get paid. Then remind yourself about the maintenance records of these airlines combined with the chronic shortage of FAA inspectors. Then toss in all the air traffic controllers who got cut by DOGE.

One of the reasons why my mom became a nurse was because she wanted to be a stewardess. Back then, you needed nursing training to be one. Today, a flight attendant is considered barely more than a waitress and they are paid more like them than like any sort of "professional" or highly skilled worker. The travel to exotic ports of call like Regina is supposed to be the perq that makes the shitty pay worth it. But it's a grind.

Isn't the best thing to come out of Regina, the Trans-Canada highway?
