No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

Shanny, Pridham, Wickenheiser, Metcalf, Hardy all AGMs or higher still here. Dubas replaced with Tre.

Clark was head amateur scout and Spezza/Doan are assistants to the regional manager.
Tre is the new GM, Doan holds a spot that the Leafs have ranked higher than AGM on their front office list, Clancey is a new AGM.

And there are three leftover AGMs from before.

Shanny is a constant, but not fully involved on the player movement side.

Looks like a pretty different front office, given the two highest positions under the President were replaced.

If we are taking a swing I want it to be on another C and keep domi on the wing unless injuries occure.

other than ROR who could be available?

Schenn, Laughton, Monahan, Malkin?

Lots of guys with term on teams that may not be ready to rebuild.

Still so weird to me that, out of a desire to stay close to home and family, this dork played here for multiple seasons at an NHL minimum salary and even threatened to retire rather than go to another team.

Yet he’s the only member of the front office that quit out of solidarity with Dubas, and then moved to Pittsburgh with him.

Nelson, Gourde, Frost.

That’s a nuts take on an org that has the same guy at the top and kept all the AGMs.

It’s the same front office.
I disagree, obviously. Shanny is the corporate head. Tre is the guy making the roster decisions, and so was Dubas, which Shanny said he didn't interfere with. When the top guy, for all intents and purposes, is changed out, and there's a new second in command, plus one of four AGMs is changed, that looks like a pretty different front office to me.

At the end of the day, Tre is the only guy who even matters when it comes to whether the front office likes ROR, because he ultimately decides if he gets acquired or not, and he wasn't here when we got ROR at that deadline.

This could be a good chance for Robertson, and maybe his last chance.

But that line could easily be our 3rd line for a bit when Matthews/Domi/Knies are back (which is hopefully by next week for all 3).

Knies - Matthews - Domi
McMann - Tavares - Marner
Robertson - Holmberg - Nylander
Lorentz - Dewar/Minten - Grebenkin/Steeves
could be the lineup for a bit with all of Patches/Krok/Kampf/Reaves out for weeks. If the kids all play well then they might even keep Reaves out of the lineup when his suspension is done.

If Robertson can't take advantage of this opportunity, then you know Grebs is raring to go to steal his spot and is arguably a better fit too.

Nicky has never had a real chance before. And last year he was extremely productive despite barely playing.

Then he comes in and has an amazing preseason. And his coach gives him a fulltime chance for the first time.

And he plays literally the worst hockey of his career.

makes me sad tbh.
