What's going on here is that newspapers are no longer run by people who care about news. They are owned by media conglomerates that only care about their shareholders and the stock price. The suits who own and run newspapers don't vote Democrat.

I agree that’s what will happen.
Another thing we’re seeing play out again with Trump is that he has terrible political instincts when it comes to appealing to women and independents. Everything he says and does is about riling up his base even more at the expense of the voters he actually needs to win an election.
This border debacle is another example. They should have just taken the W, but because Orange Jesus wants to screech about it all year, they handed Biden another winning campaign issue. The party is following Trump off a cliff, just like Lindsay Graham predicted.
