I’m not sure about that. The attempted coup to stay in power and then running again have to be at least in part based on his fear of the legal jeopardy he faces without the powers of the Presidency as a shield.

Though the pitifully long amount of time it’s taken (and continues to take) to hold him to any kind of account may have lulled him into a false sense of security.
